Vegan Adventures

Just a vegan vegan-ing all over the world

Come along for honest vegan restaurant reviews, travel guides and seriously good plant-based finds from London and beyond.

I’m here to prove that vegan travel is about so much more than sad salads and emergency chips (although I do LOVE chips).

Going vegan for the animals. Staying vegan for the vibes.

May your travels be as delicious as they are cruelty-free!

Hello lovely readers...

I'm so glad you're here.

I created Vegan Adventures as a place to explore vegan food, travel and culture, but also to talk about something that has always mattered just as much to me as the food itself: community.

My journey with veganism started during my first year living in New York City. I spent a little while flirting with vegetarianism before fully committing to vegan life in 2015, and the NYC vegan community quickly became a huge part of my identity.

There was such a strong feeling of togetherness. Vegan restaurants, small businesses, events and activist spaces brought people together in a way that felt genuinely special. It taught me the importance of supporting businesses that align with our values, showing up for the causes we care about and creating places where people can share both delicious food and meaningful calls to action.

New York had clearly defined vegan spaces because the community had worked hard to carve them out. Things have become more integrated over the years, but you can still sometimes be more likely to stumble across an entirely vegan restaurant than find a decent vegan option at your local deli.

Then, in 2019, life brought me across the pond to London, where I discovered a very different kind of vegan culture.

In London, veganism feels much more woven into everyday life. Plant-based food is everywhere, whether people choose it for the animals, the planet, their health or simply because it is the most appealing thing on the menu. You can walk into almost any coffee shop and find plant milk, a vegan sandwich and probably something sweet too.

I love how accessible veganism feels here. At the same time, I sometimes miss the community spirit I found in New York. Because vegan options are so integrated into London life, there are fewer dedicated vegan spaces bringing everyone together in quite the same way.

Years after moving, I am still a New York vegan girl at heart.

That feeling is a huge part of why I created this blog. I want Vegan Adventures to help bridge the gaps between vegan communities around the world and make us all feel a little more connected.

Here, I share my favourite vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants, travel guides, beauty products, local discoveries and anything else that brings a little joy, curiosity or solidarity to a plant-based life.

Whether you have been vegan for years, are considering making the change or are simply curious about what the vegan world has to offer, you are very welcome here.

Together, we can explore incredible food, discover hidden gems and celebrate the people and businesses helping to make the world a kinder place.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I cannot wait to keep vegan-ing my way around the world with you.

Adventures await,

xo Shear
